Nigerian troops have rescued three kidnapped victims in Manini village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

According to a statement by the Army Public Relations Director Brigadier General ONYEMA NWACHUKUWU on Friday, the rescue was made possible by General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General TAOREED LAGBAJA and his team during a tour of the state.

According to the statement, kidnappers had already taken the victims hostage and were in the process of fleeing with them when they were approached by the GOC’s team.

Brigadier General NWACHUKUWU further explained that an intense exchange of fire subdued the kidnappers, forcing them to scramble into the adjacent woodland while suffering from gunshot wounds and leaving their hostages behind.
