OYO STATE GOVERNMENT INAUGURATES TASK FORCE ON PROPERTY PROTECTION; PROPOSE 15-YEAR JAIL TERM FOR LAND GRABBERS

The Oyo State Government has disclosed that would-be land grabbers in the state risk 15 years jail term, just as the government  inaugurated members of Task Force unit on real property protection law, 2016.

The inauguration which was conducted by the acting governor of the state, Barrister Bayo Abdulraheem at the Executive Council Chambers, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Lawal noted that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde places priority on the peace and security of citizens adding that the present administration will not condone any act that will constitute menace to the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

The acting governor said anybody caught in the act of land grabbing will be jailed for fifteen years including those who indulge in aiding and abetting land grabbers in the state.

In her remarks, the chairperson of the Task Force Unit,, Justice I.O Aiki appreciated the Seyi Makinde led administration for finding her and members of the Task Force worthy and therefore sought the support of the state government and cooperation of residents in the discharge of their duties.
