OYO KINGMAKERS PRESENTS SIXTY-FIVE ASPIRANTS FOR ALAAFIN THRONE

The Oyo traditional council, also known as Oyo-mesi, has said that all the 65 princes aspiring for the position of Alaafin of Oyo would be presented before the Ifa deity for consultation.
This was made known by the Bashorun of Oyo, High Chief YUSSUF AYOOLA LAYINKA in a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin of Oyo, BODE DUROJAIYE.
High Chief LAYINKA said that the decision became imperative following a minor disagreement among the council members.
You would recall that the kingmakers had earlier conducted interviews for 65 candidates out of which ten were shortlisted.
Making a U-turn, High Chief LAYINKA said whoever emerged among the 65 aspirants would be the candidate and the next Alaafin of Oyo.
