MINISTER OF EDUCATION SAYS NEW UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM IS UNDERWAY

The Minister of Education, Malam ADAMU ADAMU says a new curriculum is being developed to focus on skills acquisition and entrepreneurship for the employability of graduates.
Malam ADAMU ADAMU stated this at a one-day summit organized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja.
The Minister who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Mr. SONNY ECHONO said that the world was focusing on skills and entrepreneurship education because of the central role it plays in national development.
He said that five thematic areas have been identified for discussion as the curriculum has become important that the education sector should be increasingly more relevant and the teacher be a facilitator rather than an absolute harbinger of knowledge.
