Oyo State Governor SEYI MAKINDE has called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), IYIOCHA AYU.
MAKINDE made the call at a consultative meeting with the party’s presidential candidate ATIKU ABUBAKAR alongside all leaders of the party from the Southwest held in Ibadan.
MAKINDE stated that the change became imperative for the party to reflect on its national outlook and to portray what Nigerians should expect from the party in 2023 if the party wins the general elections.
ATIKU ABUBAKAR in his remark said calls for the resignation of the national chairman or any national officer can only be achieved through the party’s constitution adding that the party’s constitution can only be amended.
He however commended Governor Makinde for organizing the stakeholders meeting and noted that the party is poised to win in Lagos, Oyo and other Southwest states.
