Tinubu appoints Mohammed Isa as special assistant on Disability Matters

President Bola Tinubu has approved Mohammed Abba Isa’s nomination as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters.

According to a statement signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mohammed Isa is a distinguished champion of persons with disabilities with over a decade of experience in local and international advocacy on disability issues.

According to the statement, the new presidential aide graduated with honours from the University of Maiduguri, where he also received a Masters in Public Administration in 2017.

According to the announcement, the President entrusted the new appointment with aggressively creating avenues of opportunity for inclusion through the instillation of PWD criteria. Views in the policies and programmes of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government.

In partnership with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), he was also tasked with working closely with sub-national authorities to develop a national consensus on PWD-friendly policies and environmental circumstances
