PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU TO DECLARE OPEN THE AFRICAN COUNTER-TERRORISM SUMMIT

Today, 22nd April 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to declare open the African counter-terrorism summit in Abuja

The event is organised by Nigeria, with support from the United Nations office of counter-terrorism. It will hold from April 22 to April 23, 2024.

The presidency announced that the summit aims to enhance multilateral counter-terrorism cooperation. It also seeks to reshape the international community’s collective response to terrorism in Africa.

 

The president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced this in a statement on Sunday.

Ngelale noted that Monday’s summit would underscore the importance of African-led and African-owned solutions.

 

Ngelale said the summit will bring together participants from across Africa, including heads of state, government officials, representatives of international organisations, multilateral institutions, members of the diplomatic corps, and civil society groups.
