OYO STATE GOVERNMENT APPEALS TO RESIDENTS TO REPORT CASES OF FGM

The Oyo State Government has appealed to well-meaning citizens to report cases of Female Genital Mutilation FGM around their localities.

This was made known by the Oyo state reproductive health officer at the Oyo state ministry of health, Mrs. BALQIS OLAWOYIN while addressing media practitioners and advocates for ending FGM at a learning and sharing program organized by HACEY Healthcare Initiative in Ibadan.

Mrs. OLAWOYIN noted that the law can only take its full course when there is enough report with evidence to back up cases of FGM.

Mrs. OLAWOYIN while calling on participants at the program to take up the challenge of encouraging citizens to report cases of FGM said that there is only little the government can do if no one reports.
