NCDC WARNS AGAINST FIFTH WAVE OF COVID-19 AHEAD OF EID-EL-KABIR CELEBRATION

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC has urged Nigerians to prevent the onset of a full-fledged fifth COVID-19 wave by adhering to recommended public health safety measures.
The NCDC noted this in its COVID-19 public health advisory issued on Friday amidst the rising cases of infection in the country.
The agency said there is a need for religious organizations, community leaders, and Nigerians, in general, to take necessary precautions ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The centre noted that genomic surveillance confirms Omicron and its sub-lineages remain the dominant circulating variant of concern associated with the spread of the disease in the country.
