NBC TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS SHUTDOWN OF INDEBTED BROADCAST STATIONS

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has announced the temporary suspension of shutdown notice issued to certain broadcast stations over failure to renew their licenses.
This was made known in a communique signed by the Director General, BALARABE SHEHU ILELAH, confirming the decision to put a halt to revoking the licenses of the defaulting media organisations.
ILELAH said the commission received positive responses from debtor licenses following a meeting held with Executives of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), and other critical Stakeholders in the industry.
You would recall that NBC last Friday announced the revocation of operation licenses of the 52 broadcast stations over indebtedness to the Commission.
However, the commission extended the 24-hour shutdown order by three days following interventions from some stakeholders.
