The Federal Government has approved additional variation cost to settle consultancy services for the forensic audit on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The additional variation cost which ran into more than 700-million naira was secured at the Federal Executive Council FEC meeting presided over by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI on Wednesday, in Abuja.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, UMANA UMANA while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the FEC meeting, said that the additional cost variation was approved following the discovery that the lead consultant carrying out the forensic audit had to deal with many more projects than were initially envisaged.

UMANA who disclosed that the original cost for the audit was 1.8 billion naira said that the revised additional cost variation will now cover the additional works done by the forensic auditors.
